Hey, it’s Dawn McGruer, the business growth coach and welcome to Dawn of a New Era, the podcast where we talk all things health, wealth and happiness and where founders share the good and bad and ugly of being an entrepreneur.

So welcome to part three of our mini series all about female empowerment. And in this episode we’re going to be talking about the power of community for female founders.

So as female founders, we must embrace collaboration over competition and the importance of creating and maintaining a supportive environment for female entrepreneurs.

I’ve been in business over 20 years and the foundation to my success has always been about positive mindset and the network of like minded peers, clients, suppliers and an online tribe. So it’s important to feel part of a community because it can be really lonely as an entrepreneur.

So here are my top tips of advice that I would prioritize. Number one Building a strong support network of like minded women and allies. Number two, Seek and also offer mentorship.

Number three, create inclusive workplaces and networking spaces. And remember, you are not alone in your journey and the power of community can really drive success.

Everything I do harnesses my connections in some way or another. Building, maintaining and growing relationships is not just good for business, but it’s amazing for our spirit and our soul.

So spending time with people really lights me up and energizes me. I am at heart actually an introvert, so having time to focus in my own space is equally important.

But it’s about finding balance and spending every day in the same environment is hard for anyone. And as entrepreneurs we do crave inspiration and changing your space can be really good for your growth, both personally and professionally.

So creating my Female Founders Lunches has been a project that I wanted to do for many years, but the way that it’s actually evolved has felt really organic and authentic to my vision and mission. I feel my business has come full circle.

I started with networking back at the age of 21, which was hugely helpful for scaling my business as were the people that I met on my journey.

I’ve always had contact with people through speaking or training or coaching across all of my businesses, but running my mastermind and retreats was the biggest enrichment for me and my business today. So I’m so excited to see where the addition of the Her Power community and the Female Founder Lunches goes.

And of course who I will actually meet on my journey. Journey of getting dawn of a New Era podcast to the top 1% as a global ranking show.
